  • Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a perm staff
  • COVID vaccine required; exemption process
  • Patient Types: Telemetry, Med/Surg, Cardiac, AFib, Post-surgical, cholecystectomy, CP, CHF, Diabetics, s/p cath lab, GI issues
  • Patient Ratios: RN/LPN: 1:5-6, CNA: 2/shift days; 1/shift nights
  • Skills required: Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, prior to arrival (includes MedSurg RN)
  • Support on the Unit: Charge nurse: Yes, takes patients- lightened load, Phlebotomy- does draws unless have line, IV/VAT Team-PICC Team, Resource Nurse-Head Nurse and Educator M-F, RT 24/7, Hospitalist available 24/7, OT, PT, ST- 7 days/week, Telemetry monitoring? Telemetry tech-centralized and at Nurse Station, How many nurses on the unit - 4-6 per shift
  • Charting System/Equipment: EMR: Meditech, IV Pumps: Alaris, Medication dispensing: Pyxis
  • Floating: Units: Med Surg Tele, within or below scope
  • Orientation: 1-2 days
    • Job Requirements
    • Required Certifications: Tele RN : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (preferred)
    • LPN: BLS
    • Skills required: IV skills, NGT, PEG, PCA, wound vacs, Chest tubes, Drains (JP, DAVOL), PICC, midlines, TR Band, dressing changes, Cardiac strip interpretation, non-titrating cardiac drips
    • LPN will have all of the same duties other than administering IV push meds - RN will do that for them
      • Schedule Information
      • Weekend rotation: Every other
      • Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week (this is mandatory)
      • Can we approve time off? up to 7 days - must extend contract for any full week of RTO
      • May only request (1) weekend of RTO per 13-week contract
      • Blackout dates: Halloween 2024; Black Friday 2024
      • No call
      • Holiday Expectations: will work 2/3 major holidays
